Grand Cru Moenchberg Riesling

The wine comes from the "Moenchberg field", and the terroir unfolds to its fullest. Gentle vinification and carefully selected time for optimal bottling. The wine is stored for 2-3 years before release. It is a wine that can last up to 15 years. The name "Moenchberg" translates to "Monks' Mountain Slope" and dates back to the 11th century, when the monastery assigned the designation "Cru".

The label is in pastel colors that symbolize the lightness and elegant touch. The points on the label form a full moon or globe (depending on how you interpret it), and this helps to express that the wine has great range and complexity.

The wine has a light yellow color with green tones. Strong minerality with aromas of white fruits, pear, peach and citrus. A completely clean and delicate fruity structure. A mature and very successful Riesling.

The wine goes superbly as an apéritif, and especially with fish and white meat.

René Langdahl: “Marl and limestone field. Pear, drooling ripe pear, slightly stoned and smoky, reminiscent of Clos Ste. Hune! Burckel-Jung usually makes wine with an edge and a touch of nature, Trimbach does not, and that makes the memories even more impressive. Clean, slightly creamy and mildly sweet, oily and fatty, weighty with alcohol and discreet fruity sweetness. There are light petroleum notes in the aftertaste. Banana sweetness, but definitely don't think it's too much. It stays on the right side of the freshness barometer. Oh la la for spoken flambée or münster tart. Wildly impressive price for a grand cru riesling! Not a bass, but combines the rich and the floating.”
